DRAFT for the demo. A lawyer will review this text, and the real company name and email will be added, before Tanya Mat opens to the public.
1. What Tanya Mat is
Tanya Mat is a digital assistant that helps you recognise and avoid scams. Mat is built from the knowledge and scripts of Encik Rahmat Fitri Abdullah. Mat is a computer program (AI), not Encik Rahmat himself, and not the police, a bank or a lawyer.
Mat can make mistakes. For important decisions about your money, check with your bank or an official source. If you have just been scammed, call NSRC on 997 straight away.
2. Your account
- You log in with a Malaysian mobile number and a 6-digit code.
- One account per person. Do not share your login code with anyone.
- You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account.
3. Paid plans
- Chat with Mat is for paid plans only. There are no free chat messages.
- The paid plan: 150 chat messages and 20 minutes of voice calls a month.
- Unused plan minutes do not carry over to the next month. Bought top-up minutes do not expire.
- Each call lasts at most 10 minutes. You can call again afterwards if you still have minutes.
- Unused chat messages do not carry over. The count starts again on the 1st of each month (Malaysia time).
4. Payment and renewal
- Subscriptions are paid through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play, depending on your phone. The price is shown before you pay.
- Subscriptions renew automatically every month or year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- To cancel or manage a subscription, go to your Apple or Google Play account settings. Deleting your Tanya Mat account does not cancel a store subscription.
- After cancelling, you can keep using the plan until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- We may change prices. Changes do not affect a period you have already paid for, and you will be told in advance.
5. Not allowed
- Using Tanya Mat to scam, threaten or harm other people.
- Using automated programs to send messages or make calls.
- Trying to disrupt, hack or copy the service.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
6. Stories you share
If you share a scam story, you allow us to edit it and publish it in Tanya Mat without your name.
Write only your own experience, honestly. Do not name or accuse particular people or companies, and do not include phone numbers, account numbers, links or offers to get money back.
Our team checks every story and can edit, reject or remove it at any time.
7. Limits of responsibility
Tanya Mat gives general guidance on a best-effort basis. To the extent Malaysian law allows, we are not responsible for losses from decisions you make based on Mat's answers. Your rights as a consumer under Malaysian law are not affected.
8. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
